Amanda came to Oxy in April 2019. She supervises the Resident Directors and supports the programmatic efforts within REHS. Originally from Iowa, Amanda found her love for student affairs as an undergraduate Resident Assistant. Having received her master’s in Higher Education from Iowa State University, Amanda has worked professionally in Residential Education, Admissions, and Advising; most recently living in the San Francisco Bay Area for ten years. She is passionate about helping students reach their goals by reducing barriers to success and creating support programs within the residential community. She is also a Mental Health First Aid instructor and has certified many professional and student staff at Occidental College in Mental Health First Aid. A fun fact about Amanda is that she comes from a large family including 39 first cousins.
