Senior Fellow

Kamea is an Economics major with a double minor in Black Studies and Critical Theory & Social Justice from Pittsfield, Massachusetts. As a student at Occidental, Kamea has been able to develop her knowledge and passion for equity and justice both inside and outside of the classroom, thus inspiring her pursuit of a law degree after Occidental. While academics were a significant piece in Kamea’s decision to attend Occidental, she has found community in much more than that in her time at the college. Kamea is captain of the women’s volleyball team, a Resident Advisor for students in the Black Soul Collective residence hall, and a member of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. The biggest motivation behind Kamea’s involvement in the Occidental community remains in connecting with her fellow students of color while navigating the complexities of attending a Predominantly White Institution. In her free time, Kamea enjoys trying cuisines from various cultures, traveling to adventurous destinations, going to the gym, and creating new Spotify playlists to fit very specific moods.
