Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Marcel made his way out to California for college in 2010, looking for warm weather and a fresh start. Following graduation in 2014, he stumbled into the world of admission after being a tour guide, intern, and senior interviewer during his undergraduate career. Prior to joining Oxy in 2018, Marcel served as an assistant director of admission at the University of Southern California, where he is completing a M.Ed in Enrollment Management and Policy. He oversees the Senior Fellows Program and supports diversity initiatives. When not in the office, Marcel is a self-proclaimed movie buff and foodie.
