Tyler Melchisky
Veteran Student Coordinator

Tyler Melchisky transferred to Occidental from Pasadena City College and is a four-year veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Born and raised in South Brunswick, New Jersey, Tyler enlisted for active duty after high school. Serving as an Engineer Equipment Operator, his duties included logistical support during military operations, enhancing infrastructure, both domestically and overseas, and participating in training operations with foreign militaries.

Upon separating from the military, Tyler decided to pursue higher education to expand on the skills he acquired in the service and hone them for civilian life. He currently works as the Veteran Student Coordinator on campus, where he hopes to alleviate the stresses veterans may face as they transition out of the military and into student life.
