  • Stay hydrated.
  • When possible, stay indoors and avoid physical exertion during the hottest times of day.
  • Monitor weather forecasts, including the seven-day National Weather Service (NWS) HeatRisk forecast, to prepare for upcoming heat waves

Students suffering from heat-related illnesses, such as heat cramps or exhaustion, should contact Emmons Wellness Center. While at work, College employees should inform their direct supervisors if they are experiencing heat-related illness symptoms. A list of heat-related illness symptoms is available on the Mayo Clinic website.
