The Donald A. Strauss Foundation awards $15,000 scholarships to 10-15 California college sophomores or juniors to fund student-generated public service projects. Oxy can nominate up to three students each year for this award. Darla Chavez Chavez '21 won the Strauss Scholarship last year to create and fund art workshops for Kids in Need of Defense.
