Pooja Pant is a women’s rights activist and media artist skilled in video, radio, and photography. In 2007, she founded alongside Dr. Vivian Wenli Lin the organization, Voices of Women (VOW) Media in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. In 2014, she founded FinalTake Films in Kathmandu, Nepal where she actively produces video journalism in the region. VOW Media has been focusing participatory media work with girls and young women in South Asia, a sub-continent that is rife with various intersectional women's issues. Pooja will share and discuss how the participatory media created by these communities have been used to highlight issues of human trafficking in Nepal, addressing concerns of child marriage in India, and the rights of female construction workers in Bangladesh.  
 
The Cinematheque series is free and open to the public. The event will be held on Zoom.
