The Theater & Performance Studies department at Occidental College is thrilled that you will join us virtually and/or in-person to learn about our program on Saturday, November 20! We have made some changes to our in-person programming. Please note all in-person participants must show proof of full vaccination and wear masks indoors.

We are looking for actors, directors, playwrights, designers, stage managers, and technicians. Interested students will have the opportunity to meet and work with faculty members to gain a deeper understanding of theater opportunities at Oxy.

Please note that this is not an audition, nor is an audition required for admission to the Theater & Performance Studies Department or Occidental College. For specific questions about the department, please visit our Prospective Students Page.

In connection with the College's fall production of Seize the King, this in-person event will include a brief overview of the College's theater & performance studies department, an introduction to some faculty and current students, and a Q&A with the writer/director Will Power. The virtual info session and Q&A that starts off the day is accessible to everyone, whether attending on-campus or off!

Tentative Schedule

  • 12:30–1:30 p.m. | Virtual* info session and Q&A
    *Virtual and in-person attendees welcome to attend over Zoom
  • 5:45 p.m. | Check-in at the Keck Theater patio and Keck Theater Micro-Tour with Dr. Sarah Kozinn, Associate Professor, Theater & Performance Studies and other faculty.
  • 6:00 p.m. | Walk down to the Marketplace with Dr. Kozinn and current students. Dinner (vouchers provided) and Q&A in the tent on Thorne Lawn West.
  • 7:30 p.m. | Attend performance of Seize the King and 30-minute post-show talk with writer/director Will Power(In adherence to county guidelines the actors will be unmasked while performing and are tested three times per week.)
