This talk, sponsored by the Biochemistry Program, will showcase how Alumni Speaker Dr. Rosny Daniel developed his inclusive approach to medicine and how to combat a lack of equity and diversity in both patients and medical practitioners which can negatively impact the health, safety, and care of communities.
Dr. Daniel is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at UCSF's School of Medicine. His academic niche is education on topics of diversity, equity and inclusion. While attending Occidental College as an undergrad (Class of '09), Dr. Daniel took full advantage of the many programs that Oxy has to offer; from playing on the men's rugby team to being a Biochemistry lab assistant. Now, he works clinically at both UCSF Parnassus and ZSFGH. In the emergency department he specializes in resuscitation of critically ill patients, evaluation and management of any acute medical or psychiatric issue and team management in a high stress environment.
