Join Oxy Geology and Physics for a talk with a member of NASA’s Artemis II Lunar Science Team about their experience with the recent and future lunar missions.
As part of the Artemis II Lunar Science Team, Dr. Borel's work in Mission Control involves guiding crew observations and analyzing downlinked mission data in real time. Beyond the control room, Borel wears a few hats, helping train astronauts and flight personnel by teaching geology and building digital learning modules, and working in science operations to prepare for Artemis missions.
Dr. Borel has been a part of Earth-based analog field tests which help lay the groundwork for future Artemis lunar landings. All of this preparation culminates in some incredible science highlights from Artemis II, particularly the crew's critical lunar observations and the success of their scientific targeting plans.
