Escape for an evening with a trip to a black hole. Astrophysicist and Occidental College Professor, Sabrina Stierwalt, will take us on a tour of the most mysterious objects the universe has to offer. How do we know black holes exist? What would happen if you fell into one? Could a black hole swallow the Earth?
Dr. Stierwalt will discuss the latest research, including her own, into how supermassive black holes form, what the biggest black holes look like, and why the universe appears to be missing a population of smaller black holes.
