For the 19th consecutive year, Occidental College is one of the top producers of student Fulbright Awards, according to the Chronicle of Higher Education’s annual Fulbright rankings.

Top-producing institutions are recognized annually for having the highest number of accepted applicants to the Fulbright student and scholar programs. Eight Occidental students and alumni were awarded 2023–24 Fulbrights to work and study abroad, and nearly 140 Occidental students and alumni have earned Fulbrights since 2003.

The Fulbright Program is the United States Department of State’s flagship international educational-exchange program, covering travel, education, and living expenses for awardees. Since 1946, the Fulbright Program has provided over 400,000 students, scholars, artists, and professionals from all fields the opportunity to study and conduct research in more than 160 countries.

Recipients of Fulbright grants are selected on the basis of academic and professional achievement as well as demonstrated leadership potential in their fields. The 2023–24 Occidental Fulbright Students and their research projects will be announced at the end of the academic year.
