The National and International Fellowships Office is here to help you find awards that may be a good fit for your interests, as well as to support you through the application process.
*Note: As Oxy classes move online in spring 2020, fellowships advising is still available! Please sign up for advising appointments on Handshake or email email@example.com for other appointment times.*
Each award has its own application process, and requirements may include a research or study proposal, personal statement or essay, financial information, transcripts, letters of recommendation and/or interviews.
Students may apply for some awards directly, but most included here require the College to nominate or endorse one or more candidates. Applicants must adhere to both internal Oxy deadlines and national deadlines. Occidental has a committee process for reviewing applications and nominating students for such awards. There are other campus resources to assist students in the application process: the National and International Fellowships Office, faculty specialists in the Writing Center, Career Services, departmental faculty, and academic advisors. Students should take advantage of these services.
