Corals are the foundation of one of the most ecologically and economically important ecosystems on the planet, but global climate change and other anthropogenic impacts threaten their future existence. Understanding the capacity for coral acclimatization or adaptation is therefore essential for predicting their future responses and informing management practices. This seminar will present data from two case studies which investigated the genomic basis of local coral adaptation to increased pCO2 and temperature.
