Purpose:

The Udall Foundation awards scholarships to sophomores and juniors who demonstrate leadership, service, and a commitment to issues related to Native American nations or the environment. The scholarship honors the legacy of Morris and Stewart Udall.

Eligibility:

In order to apply, a student must:

- be a college sophomore or junior

- be a U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident

- be a Native American or Alaskan Native (only if applying to study issues impacting Native American nations): see details here

Nomination Process:

Oxy may nominate up to 8 applicants per year. To apply through Oxy, applicants must email a completed sample application (available here) and an unofficial transcript to fellowships@oxy.edu by January 22, 2024. If your application is nominated, you will work with the committee to polish your application before the national deadline.
