5:10 p.m.  The Saddleridge fire, located about 20 miles northwest of the Oxy campus on the northern edge of the San Fernando Valley, continues to burn to the north and west, carrying it away from Oxy.

Air quality in the Eagle Rock area is in the moderate range, according to the South Coast Air Quality Management District—typical for this time of year. There have been no power interruptions.

9:30 a.m. The Saddleridge fire, which was first reported around 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, is located about 20 miles northwest of the Oxy campus on the northern edge of the San Fernando Valley near the Los Angeles communities of Granada Hills and Sylmar. It is burning to the north and west, carrying it farther away from Oxy. The fire is not impacting air quality and no smoke from the fire is visible on campus, where winds currently amount to no more than light breezes. There have been no power interruptions.
