Aneesah Ettress is the Arts & Humanities Subject Specialist in the Library. She earned her BA in Religious Studies with an emphasis in Art History from Occidental College in 2016 and her MDiv in Religion and Visual Culture from the University of Chicago in 2021. She has published exhibition articles and short essays on the spiritual significance of contemporary Black art in the secular sphere.
Aneesah is no stranger to the Oxy library, having worked as a Peer Research Advisor with the former Center for Digital Liberal Arts. She also served as the inaugural Mellon Post Bac Fellow for Undergraduate Research in the Arts & Humanities working with faculty as a TA on digital projects and developing programs to reach underrepresented students in the Arts & Humanities disciplines. She is excited to build off of these efforts in her new role, ensuring that information literacy instruction, library exhibitions, and programs are inclusive and equitable for all.
