
Vivian brings nearly 25 years of experience in higher education and has been a member of the Occidental College community for the past decade. Over the years, she has held a variety of roles, including student advising and support, residence education, behavioral intervention, and case management. With a deep commitment to student success, Vivian is particularly passionate about guiding students through personal and academic challenges, offering support with empathy, authenticity, and, when appropriate, humor.
Originally from Los Angeles, Vivian earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership & Policy from the University of Vermont, her Master’s in College Student Personnel from the University of Maryland, and her Bachelor’s in Anthropology from UC Berkeley. Her work is driven by a strong desire to support students who are navigating difficulties, helping them move forward with care and understanding.
