2018 Highland Park Independent Film Festival Best of Fest Shorts

This event is sponsored by Occidental’s Media Arts & Culture Department and is free and open to the public, but contains R-rated content. 

DIRECTIONS TO CAMPUS: A printable campus map is accessible here. The event will be held in Occidental's Choi Auditorium, located in Johnson/McKinnon Hall at the center of campus (#28/ coordinate B-3 on the map). The map also indicates a number of different free general parking options on campus.

Homecoming & Family Weekend MOFA Recital

Join us for a special Homecoming Weekend MOFA (Music on a Friday Afternoon) Recital, followed by a reception in Booth Music Courtyard. Featuring performances by Occidental College Music students.

Music on a Friday Afternoon (or "MOFA") is an informal recital series where students showcase the music they've been practicing throughout the semester. A long-standing tradition in the Music Department, MOFAs allow students to gain performance experience while connecting with peers and community members.

Pacific Opera Project - La Traviata

The Highland Park-based Pacific Opera Project returns to the impressive Thorne Hall at Occidental College for a large production of Verdi's masterpiece La traviata. Following the tremendous artistic success of The Rake's Progress in 2016, POP will once again join forces with the Occidental College Glee Club to present La traviata with a huge chorus and sizable orchestra.

A multiplayer card game by Emerson College Assoc. Prof. Miranda Banks aimed at promoting diversity and equity in the media industry and other arenas of creative collaboration.  In addition to playing the game, Prof. Banks will present on its genesis, design, and adoption/player response to date. This is a CSP 99 event.
