Halloween Consent Carnival

Project SAFE invites the Oxy community to the Halloween Consent Carnival, a festive evening that combines spooky seasonal fun with interactive activities designed to promote healthy communication, boundary-setting, and respect. Featuring carnival-style games, creative stations, costume contests, and plenty of treats, the event offers students a playful, low-pressure space to learn about consent and connect with peers.

Roots & Fragments: A Collaging Workshop

Together, we will use collage as a way to explore themes of memory, ecology, embodiment, and transformation.

This workshop is designed as a supportive and reflective space where art becomes a tool for care, connection, and reclamation. Through guided prompts and open exploration, participants can create works that honor rootedness, shadow, and the fragments that make up our stories.

When Violence Intersects: Domestic Abuse, Firearms, & The Power of Prevention

Domestic and sexual violence don’t just happen “somewhere else” — they happen in college communities, often behind closed doors, and can escalate when firearms are involved. This event will explore how intimate partner violence is often a precursor to gun violence, and how we can recognize the warning signs before tragedy strikes.

This is about protecting each other, not just talking about the issues. Come ready to learn, engage, and be part of the solution.

SASA's Diwali

Diwali is one of the most important holidays in the Hindu calendar. Celebrating the triumph of good over evil, the festival of lights is celebrated annually at Occidental College. Diwali is the South Asian Students Association’s biggest event of the year, and allows the South Asian community the chance to celebrate one of our largest holidays and share it with the Occidental community. Look forward to henna, dinner, and dancing. SASA looks forward to hosting Occidental students, faculty and staff for a wonderful evening!

Survivor Advocate Meet & Greet

Project SAFE is excited to welcome Survivor Advocate, Pilar Montenegro (she, her, hers), to the team! Stop by the Academic Quad to meet her and learn more about Project SAFE's confidential advocacy. She can share information regarding how to schedule an appointment, what our walk-in hours are, and other resources and services available via Project SAFE.
