Join Occidental President Harry J. Elam, Jr. in conversation with Patt Morrison '74 H'12 on Monday, September 21 at 3 p.m. This will be the second event in the College’s new Community Book Program, in which the entire Oxy community is invited to read the same book and come together to discuss its themes and importance through shared programs. Learn why President Elam chose Red at the Bone: A Novel as the first book for Oxy to read together, and how his choice reflects his background, values, and hopes and aspirations for Occidental.

Prof. Oliver Wang (CSULB) - Oliver Wang a professor of sociology at CSU Long Beach. He is a culture writer, scholar, and DJ based in Los Angeles. He's the author of Legions of Boom: Filipino American Mobile DJ Crews of the San Francisco Bay Area. He's the creator of the audioblog soul-sides.com and co-host of the album appreciation podcast, Heat Rocks.
