Substance Use Support Group

Geared towards students who have any questions, concerns or challenges related to various forms of substances and substance use. The group will provide psychoeducation on various substances and how they impact physical and emotional health. The group will also focus on identifying and implementing safe and healty coping skills through peer support as well as adjunct resources.

Dr. Kuo's work, which has been featured in multiple media outlets including CNN, NPR's Fresh Air, The Today Show, Washington Post, LA Times, UK's Daily Mail, Australia's Sydney Morning Herald among others, has convincingly linked healthy urban ecosystems to stronger, safer neighborhoods, lower crime, reduced AD/HD symptoms, reduced aggression, and an array of other mental health indicators. Film Screening and Discussion: "Emilia: An Untold Cuban-American Story"

Director and producer, Luiz Peréz Tolón traces his familial roots over two centuries to uncover a forgotten past and inspire future generations to tell their stories. Although anchored in history, the story is told in the present day as Tolón rediscovers his family heritage. He joins Emilia's descendants in Cuba and Miami as they struggle to understand Cuba-U.S. history and their own family history of exile, family seperation, and reunification.
