Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. A Detroit native, visionary storyteller and multiple award-winning filmmaker, Christine Swanson earned her MFA in Film from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, one of the nation’s top-ranked graduate film programs. CNN identified Christine as one of the most promising filmmakers to emerge from NYU’s graduate film program since Martin Scorsese, Ang Lee, Oliver Stone, and Spike Lee (Christine’s NYU directing teacher). Christine also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Notre Dame, double majoring in Communications and Japanese.

Professor Navarro is a Los Angeles native who earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry at Yale, and his Ph. D. in organic chemistry at Caltech. He then went on to conduct chemical biology research at Stanford University, where he served as a National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow. As an assistant professor at Occidental College, Dr. Navarro teaches organic chemistry, and his research focus lies in developing new chemical reactions and applying them in the synthesis of biologically active natural products.
