CFA Society Los Angeles is an association of local investment professionals, consisting of portfolio managers, security analysts, investment advisors, and other financial practitioners, that has served CFA charterholders and CFA Program candidates locally since 1931. 

Oxy alumnus, Akiko Hayata '04, CFA, SVP at Payden & Rygel, and Laura Carney, Executive Director, CFALA will speak with students about career paths in investment management and the benefits students gain from joining CFALA as a student member. 

Hear directly from UCLA Assistant Professor of Psychology, Dr. Jennifer Silvers, on what to expect and how to pursue a career in research. She leads the Social Affective Neuroscience and Development (SAND) Lab.

Barbara Valiente, Controller, is responsible for all Oxy accounting and financial management activities. She will provide insight on setting up a budget, paying for college and credit card debt, savings tips, and will explain an employer-sponsored 401k plan.
