Dr. Yee brings invaluable insights into the world of medical school admissions, offering a comprehensive presentation on Duke's prestigious School of Medicine. This event goes beyond the basics, delving into real admission case studies to provide a deeper understanding of the selection process.

• Meet last year’s Schwartz recipients and students who did either an internship or research
• Learn how the Schwartz Grants will help you enrich learning experiences outside the classroom in the areas of economics, investment and/or finance

About the Panelists

Sam Bergen '04 is the chief marketing officer at Illumination, shepherding The Super Mario Bros. Movie to a worldwide box office of $1.36 billion earlier this year. He is currently preparing for the launch of Migration this December and for Despicable Me 4 next July. Prior to joining Illumination in December 2020, Bergen was vice president of global brand creative for Beats by Dre, built Vice Media’s West Coast office, and was CMO for Omnicom. At Oxy, Bergen majored in cognitive science with a minor in film.

Learn from Oxy pre-med and pre-health students how they found summer opportunities that are aligned with their plans to pursue medical school and health profession programs.

Students will have the​ ​rare ​opportunity to engage in this hands-on learning experience. Learn about the basic suture kit, types of sutures and basic knots, suture techniques and procedures, and suture removal. Information will also be provided about the Health Professions Scholarship Program.

Dr. Jose González is the Medical Director of Healthcare in Action, a Los Angeles-based medical group that provides care to older adults and other vulnerable individuals who are experiencing homelessness. Dr. González is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Addiction Medicine.
