This meeting, organized by the joint ASOC/DEB Gender and Sexuality Equity Committee (GSEC), is the first in a series of two events aimed at prioritizing transparency and collaboration in the process of improving the accessibility of health services at Oxy. All members of the Oxy community are welcome to attend!
Students: Flu shot are billed to insurance and are fully covered by the United Healthcare Student Plan. Those who waive the student insurance will have their flu shot billed to insurance as out-of-network and may incur a fee to your student account if not fully covered by your plan.
Faculty and Staff: Oxy Human Resources generously covers the cost of the vaccine for college employees (this does not include student workers).
Oxy locations in the film include the Johnson Student Center, the Arthur G. Coons Administrative Center (standing in for an art museum), Samuelson Pavilion, the Booth Music Center, the Marketplace, Collins House, Newcomb Hall, Weingart Center, Rush Gym, Thorne Hall and the Quad.
The mission of the Occidental Women in Leadership Program (OWL) is to develop leadership skills in women and trans-women that are relevant to whatever life path or career they choose to follow, including but not limited to: business, education, non-profit organizations, government, political activism, and community service.
The Newman Catholic Community cordially invites you to a meal honoring El Día de Los Muertos on Sunday, October 28th from 5:45-6:45 PM, and a celebratory Mass following at 7 PM. Food (tamales, pan dulce, and more!) will be served in the Quad, in front of the chapel. We encourage bringing photos of loved ones that have passed to decorate our memorial altar, or send them to catholic@oxy.edu and we will gladly print them out for you.
Snapshots in history show that Native people have moved from rural to urban areas at particular points in time. These time periods include, the great depression, World War II, as well as, the termination and relocation era of the 1950s and 1960s. While the Federal Government pushed assimilation policies, Native people sought to create new Inter-Tribal communities. In addition, Native Americans told their own stories through oral tradition, written documents and photographs which defined their own realities.
