A reminder about the continuing importance of COVID safety measures in these final weeks of the semester.

Dear Oxy Students,

With finals, Senior Week, and Commencement quickly approaching, on behalf of the COVID Operations Group (COG), I wanted to send a reminder about the continuing importance of COVID safety measures in these final weeks of the semester. We encourage you to exercise the utmost caution during this time to prevent the spread of COVID and protect yourself and others in the Oxy community.

  • Please continue to stay masked indoors in public spaces on campus. In places off campus where masking is not required indoors, it is still strongly recommended.
  • Continue to wear a high-quality mask (surgical, N95, or KN95).
  • Remember, the AGC is open for COVID testing Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 3:45 p.m., and will remain so through Friday, May 13.
  • If you are symptomatic, get tested right away.

It will take all of us doing our part to ensure that Commencement, and all the activities leading up to it, are experiences that we can all take part in and enjoy together.

Keep in mind that Los Angeles County and campus guidelines require a 5-10 day isolation period for anyone who tests positive for COVID. We have gotten through so much of this pandemic together, and by continuing to be vigilant we can minimize COVID isolations and the risk of disruption to your end of the year celebratory events.

We’re almost there! Thank you for all you have done this year to keep Oxy safe and healthy. I appreciate your efforts and look forward to ending this academic year in celebration and community with all of you.
