This Valentine’s Week, Project SAFE is offering space to reflect upon, practice, and discuss self love, consent, and relationship endings.
- Monday, February 13th - 4:30-6pm - JSC Morrison Lounge - “Navigating Consent Under the Influence,” with Irene Wickwire (they them) from Project SAFE. This student-led workshop will utilize Occidental’s “incapacitation policy” as a framework to reflect on their own boundaries with substances, learn about the signs of overintoxication, and engage in thoughtful consideration of their consent safety practices.
- Tuesday, February 14th - 4:30-6pm - JSC Morrison Lounge - Self-Love Writing Workshop with Jaden Fields: As part of Project SAFE's "Sorry NOT Sorry" series, poet, cultural worker, and Co-Director of Mirror Memoirs, Jaden Fields (he/him) will facilitate a writing workshop that centers the practice of radical self-love.
- Wednesday, February 15th - 4:30-6pm - JSC Morrison Lounge - Yes to No Consent Spectrum with Rebekah Ressler. In this interactive workshop we learn an approach to consent that is founded in the body, Somatic Consent. Participants will learn about yes and no, the different ways yes and no can feel in our bodies and practice saying no and setting boundaries with each other.
