Ryan Carter, of Hamilton College, visits Oxy to lead a workshop on programming, and coding, and music composition.
This workshop is free and open to the public.
This event is made possible through the support of the Benjamin H. Culley Fund.
Interested in pursuing a career in the music industry upon graduating from Oxy? Meet three members of the Class of 2016 who have done just that.
Introducing:
Kyleene Johnson, Symphony Education Manager at Utah Symphony and Utah Opera
Kyle Rodriguez, Composer's Assistant to TV/Film composer Nathan Barr ("True Blood," "The Americans")
Asa Welch, Artists & Repertoire Coordinator at Atlantic Records
Please come for a public conversation and Q&A with talent executive Eddie Galan about his path in the entertainment industry, including his advice for students entering the fields of music, television, and film. A Los Angeles native and Oxy film production major, Galan saw early success as a music producer and songwriter for High School Musical and "Hannah Montana" before developing a successful career as a music and acting talent manager.
All current Music majors will be in attendance, so you will be able to meet your new classmates. See you there!
Presented by the Occidental College Music Department.
Can't make it in person?
Tune into our Facebook live-stream from 4:30 to 5:30 PM.
In support of the new Music Production track in the Music major, the Music Department is hosting industry professionals in a series of guest lectures, each followed by a Q&A and reception.
