Domestic and sexual violence don’t just happen “somewhere else” — they happen in college communities, often behind closed doors, and can escalate when firearms are involved. This event will explore how intimate partner violence is often a precursor to gun violence, and how we can recognize the warning signs before tragedy strikes.
This is about protecting each other, not just talking about the issues. Come ready to learn, engage, and be part of the solution.
Diwali is one of the most important holidays in the Hindu calendar. Celebrating the triumph of good over evil, the festival of lights is celebrated annually at Occidental College. Diwali is the South Asian Students Association’s biggest event of the year, and allows the South Asian community the chance to celebrate one of our largest holidays and share it with the Occidental community. Look forward to henna, dinner, and dancing. SASA looks forward to hosting Occidental students, faculty and staff for a wonderful evening!
Meet and hang out with us in the Green Bean for some chill vibes, coffee and tea from the Green Bean, and more!

Led by a trauma-informed instructor, this session centers empowerment through mindful movement, self-compassion, and embodied presence. Whether you're a seasoned yogi or brand new to the mat, all bodies and identities are welcome. This is a quiet space to honor yourself, support one another, and embrace rest as a radical act of care.
No prior yoga experience is needed. Mats will be available, or feel free to bring your own. Remember to wear comfortable clothes that you can move in.
Led by trained martial arts instructor Victor Chico of Oxy Karate, this interactive session will introduce participants to foundational karate-based self-defense techniques—no prior experience necessary!
