Have questions about Occidental’s academic programs? We have answers.
Advising Week has been rescheduled and extended and will take place from March 30 to April 10. Registration for Fall 2020 courses will begin on April 13. Students should contact their faculty advisors to schedule advising appointments. Undeclared students also have the option of scheduling an online advising appointment with the Advising Center.
Visit the Remote Advising page for additional information and guidance holding advising conversations via telephone, video conference, and email.
At Occidental, faculty advisors are the primary source of advising and guidance for students as they navigate the academic program. The Advising Center provides additional support for students on routine academic matters, including questions about academic policies and procedures, tracking Core Requirements, placement exams, transferring credit from other institutions, and so on. We also frequently meet with students who are undecided about a major or minor and wish to discuss the various options.
The Advising Center also serves as a good first stop for students who aren't sure which office or faculty member to talk to regarding a specific program or objective.
Making an Appointment
While drop-ins are welcome, we recommend making an appointment in advance to ensure that an advisor will be available to meet with you. Appointments can be either in person or via telephone. We are also happy to answer questions sent to our email address: firstname.lastname@example.org. To schedule an appointment, simply click on the "Schedule an Appointment" button above.
