The psychology comprehensive examination tests our majors' understanding of the broad field of psychology, based on the departmental curriculum.

Throughout their study, our students gain important knowledge about what psychology encompasses as a field. As the name implies, the “comprehensive examination" evaluates students' understanding of the broad endeavors of psychologists and psychological researchers via a 170-item multiple-choice exam, not unlike the Psychology GRE or various state licensing exams. The exam tests students comprehension of topics and skills taught in the department's “Fundamentals Domain" courses, as well as methods and statistics courses.
