A message on behalf of Emmons Wellness Center and Campus Safety about the relaunch of the LiveSafe app, which provides you with an easy and direct way to connect with Campus Safety regarding your health, safety and security needs.
Dear Oxy Community,
As we begin the fall semester and as the College continues to enhance its health and safety protocols, we are relaunching the LiveSafe app, which provides you with an easy and direct way to connect with Campus Safety regarding your health, safety and security needs.
LiveSafe has updated its app with a new section for COVID-19 resources that gives you access to basic COVID-19 health information and tips. In addition, you will be able to anonymously report any behavior not in line with COVID-19 policies you see within the Oxy community, including social distancing and mask usage. The LiveSafe app can be used by those on campus as well as members of the Oxy community who are remote.
Please go to Oxy’s LiveSafe webpage for more information.
To use LiveSafe:
Download the app on your iPhone or Android.
Select "Occidental College" as your affiliation.
Fill in your user profile.
As a reminder, all students, faculty and staff living on campus or coming to campus for any reason are required to use our Daily Health Check System to verify that you are free of any COVID-19 symptoms or recent exposures.
Remember, you should not leave your res hall room or come to campus with any new or unusual cold or flu symptoms, even mild ones. You should also follow these best health practices:
Practice social distancing by putting at least six feet between yourself and others.
California requires face masks covering the nose and mouth to be worn in all public settings, including public places where six feet of separation is not feasible.
Wash your hands often for at least 20 seconds.
Avoid touching your face with unwashed hands.
Clean and then disinfect frequently used surfaces.
Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or inside of your elbow. Dispose of tissues immediately.
Monitor your health for symptoms and stay home if you are sick and/or have a temperature over 100.4 degrees fahrenheit.
If you believe you have been exposed to COVID-19 or are experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID-19, do not leave your res hall or come to campus. Discuss your symptoms, mild or severe, with the staff at Emmons Wellness Center or your health provider to determine next steps.
