In a follow up to President Elam’s November 30 spring update, international students requiring a hybrid option can be accommodated on a case-by-case basis.
Please note that visa regulatory guidance differs for first-year and returning students:
- First year international students who can travel to Oxy for spring 2021 will enroll in a full load of courses (minimum 12 units) including at least one hybrid class (designed for international students) as regulations require. First-year students who cannot travel may continue in a full load of remote courses.
- Continuing international students (sophomores, juniors, and seniors) can maintain lawful F-1 student status if enrolled full time (minimum 12 units) in remote Occidental courses whether they are living inside or outside the U.S.
- As communicated previously, all international students are eligible for campus housing.
