Join us for a discussion with linguist, writer, and translator Ross Perlin, moderated by Professor Jason Wong
At what levels, and by what mechanisms, do linguistic variables intersect with or affect political and economic outcomes?
Recognizing the limits of the current literature—both linguistic and economic—and focusing on hyper-diverse urban environments as a way forward.
Ross Perlin teaches linguistics at Columbia University and is co-director of the Endangered Language Alliance (ELA), a non-profit dedicated to documenting endangered languages and supporting linguistic diversity, in collaboration with communities in New York City and beyond.
