We have designed this virtual webinar to help families adjust to having young adults away at college. Topics covered include the obstacles of college launching, the reorganization of family, the culture of care, and the preservation of social and emotional connection.
We are delighted to have guest speaker, Julia Harkleroad '05, MS, LCMFT, a licensed clinical marriage and family therapist with nearly 10,000 hours of face to face time with families lead this special webinar for Oxy families. Harkleroad designs curriculum for school districts, corporations and not-for-profits. She is a mental health advocate and presents publicly on topics of concern to parents today such as: suicide prevention, anxiety, social and emotional connection, stress management and college launching. She offers parent coaching and consults with institutions on mental healthcare planning and integration.
A representative from the Dean of Students Office and/or Emmons Wellness Center will also join us and provide answers to Oxy specific questions!
We request you pre-submit your questions for the Q&A portion of this event and we’ll do our best to address questions during the webinar. This webinar will be recorded and shared to those who pre-register.
If you have any questions, please email the Office of Alumni and Parent Engagement at parents@oxy.edu.
