Speaker Bios
Salam Al-Marayati is president and co-founder of the LA-based Muslim Public Affairs Council. He is an expert on Islam in the West, Muslim reform movements, human rights, democracy, national security, and Middle East politics. He has spoken at the White House, Capitol Hill and represented the U.S. at international human rights and religious freedom conferences. His writings have appeared in every major national news publication, including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, and Los Angeles Times.
Daniel Sokatch has served as the CEO of the New Israel Fund since 2009. Before joining NIF, Daniel served as the CEO of the Jewish Community Federation of San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin and Sonoma Counties and was the founding executive director of the Progressive Jewish Alliance (now Bend the Arc). He is the author of the book, Can We Talk About Israel: A Guide for the Curious, Confused, and Conflicted(Bloomsbury, 2021).
