About the Artist
Winner of multiple prizes, organist, pianist, and conductor, Tyrone Whiting began his formal studies as a teenager with Nigel McClintock at Croydon Parish Church (now Croydon Minster) in London, UK. Five years later, in the summer of 2011, he was awarded the Associateship diploma of the Royal College of Organists (ARCO).
Sara Marsh (Canning) has built a sterling reputation as a clarinetist and teacher in the Western U.S. Hailing from Texas, she studied at the University of North Texas and UCLA. Early in her career, she served as second clarinetist in the Reno Chamber Orchestra and principal clarinetist in the Tucson Symphony. Since her move to California, Sara has been in demand as a freelancer for orchestral and chamber music in the Southland and has held the principal clarinet position in the Stockton Symphony since 2014.
The Occidental College Glee Club returns to Herrick Memorial Chapel after their 2020 Tour to Arizona. Join us in welcoming them back home!
PROGRAM:
The Glee Club is joined by the Occidental Symphony Orchestra for an afternoon of seasonal fun. The groups will perform works by J.S. Bach, C.V. Stanford, David Conte, David Rose, Leroy Anderson, and Craig Courtney, as well as holiday favorites!
General admission tickets are available for $15.00. Oxy students may enter free with student ID.
This event is open to the public.
Oxy students and community members sing together! Performing classical songs, gospel, and pop songs as well as traditional Tanzanian, Israeli, Arabic, and American music.
