Research Assistant, Moore Lab of Zoology and Genomics Center

Eliza has been assisting with research in the Genomics Center since she was an undergraduate at Occidental. Since graduating in 2022, she will continue working on various genomics research, such as the Mexican Bird Resurvey Project, managing the lab, mentoring undergraduates, as well as her own independent research of assembling a complete phylogeography of Green Jays (Cyanocorax yncas) across Mesoamerica. She has always been interested in studying evolution, but did not discover her love for birds until she started working at the Moore Lab. She hopes to continue her studies in avian conservation and research the impacts of anthropogenic forces on wildlife biodiversity.
