Senior Fellow

Isabel is a Critical Theory and Social Justice Major and an Urban Environmental Policy Minor from Brooklyn, New York. Through her studies, she has learned about the impacts of intersectional activism and how to interrogate systems of power and inequity. She is most interested in classes concerning queer and gender studies, postcolonialism, and critical race theory. This summer, Isabel interned with Freedom House, a non-profit organization that conducts research and advocacy on international democracy, political freedom, and human rights. Specifically, she worked on Freedom House’s Emergency Assistance Program which provides resiliency and advocacy grants to human rights defenders and organizations seeking assistance. During the school year, Isabel plays ultimate frisbee, edits for the Critical Theory and Social Justice undergraduate journal and participates in the Middle East and North Africa Students’ Association at Oxy. On weekends, Isabel enjoys going to the beach, spending time with friends, and exploring LA.
