All of the details you need to know to call Occidental “home”!
The Residential Education and Housing Services (REHS) department is dedicated to making sure that your residential stay at Occidental is safe, comfortable, and enriching. REHS utilizes a software program called eRezlife to manage housing. eRezlife allows you to complete your housing application, indicate roommate preferences, and review additional resources and bulletins pertaining to housing at Oxy.
Complete the housing form
Once you’ve explored your housing options, your next step is to complete the housing application through eRezLife. Before applying, make sure you’ve activated your oxy.edu account and can log in using your Oxy credentials. Note: Room type and roommate preferences are not guaranteed—you’ll be assigned based on availability at the time placements are made.
Steps to Apply
- Log in to eRezLife using your oxy.edu credentials.
- Select “My Housing Profile” and confirm your information.
- Return to the toolbar and choose “Housing Overview” → “Apply Now” to open the Spring 2026 Housing Application.
- Complete and submit the form, reviewing all Terms & Conditions and the housing license agreement.
- If requesting a preferred roommate, navigate to “Roommate Groups”, create a group name, and enter your roommate’s Oxy email. All group members will receive an email to confirm.

Housing accommodations
If you require housing accommodations due to a documented medical or psychological condition, complete that step next.
- Review the housing accommodations policy.
- Submit the housing accommodation request.
Requests submitted after the deadline will be placed on a waitlist and filled as space becomes available.
Room and roommate(s) assignments
You can expect to receive your room assignment and roommate(s) information via email directly from REHS during the first part of January.
Prepare to move in
After all that is done, you’ll be ready to prepare for move-in day. Consult our amenities guide (when it becomes available) so that you know what is offered in the residence halls and to start making a list of what you can bring and what you shouldn’t bring to campus.
