Meet the Title IX Team

Jennifer brings a compelling set of credentials to Occidental, having both a master’s in social work and a law degree, and a wide range of experience in Title IX, domestic violence, restorative justice and trauma-informed investigation and adjudication. Prior to working at Occidental, Jennifer served as the Director of UC San Diego’s Office for Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination and Title IX Officer, was the Title IX Director at Florida State, developed and implemented the Department of Veterans Affairs domestic violence/intimate partner violence assistance program, and prosecuted child abuse cases as an Assistant Attorney General in Florida. A first generation college student, Jennifer attended Sarah Lawrence College, graduated from CUNY’s Baruch College, received her MSW from CUNY’s Hunter College, and her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.

As Deputy Coordinator, Jacalyn assists the Title IX Coordinator with the investigation and resolution of all reports of sexual harassment, sexual violence and intimate partner violence involving staff, vendors, and visitors; and for training, prevention and education efforts. She is also serves as the Associate Director of Human Resources for Employee Relations and Training.

As Deputy coordinator, Alison assists the Title IX Coordinator with compliance in matters related to gender equity in athletic programs. She is also the serves as the Head Softball Coach.
 

Heather Lukes

As Deputy coordinator, Heather assists the Title IX Coordinator with the investigation and resolution of reports of sexual harassment, sexual violence and intimate partner violence; and for training, prevention and education efforts. She also serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Critical Theory and Social Justice.
