Students are responsible for knowing the following:

Occidental is located in a major metropolitan area. To maintain a safe and secure environment for all residents, exterior doors in the residence halls are locked 24 hours a day. All residents must carry their keys with them at all times and should report any damaged exterior doors to the residence hall staff and/or Campus Safety immediately. To enhance the safety and security of all community members, exterior doors must never be propped open. Propping doors increases the risk of harm to the community. Students observed propping residence hall doors will be referred to the Office of Student Conduct.
