The total cost of attendance at Occidental includes both direct costs and indirect costs. These combined estimates help you and your family plan for the full cost of a year at Occidental. Below is the estimated cost of attendance for 2025-26 (before financial aid):

Estimated Indirect Costs $3,240 $3,240 $3,240

Total Estimated Cost of Attendance $92,265 $88,297 $79,176

These are charges billed directly by Occidental, such as tuition, fees, and on-campus housing and meals.
The on-campus housing and meal plan estimates are based on an average of students living on campus. Your cost may differ depending upon which room type and meal plan you select.

*Note: Students who live off campus or with a parent are not charged for housing and food. This amount reflects the lower cost of living off-campus or with a parent. The food component of the off-campus and with parent budgets cannot be increased to include the cost of an on-campus meal plan.

These are estimated out-of-pocket expenses not billed by the College, such as books, supplies, personal expenses, and travel. They vary by student and are included in your financial aid budget to give a fuller picture of total college costs.

All students must have health insurance to enroll at Occidental.
The Occidental Student Health Insurance Program (OSHIP) premium for the 2025–26 academic year is $3,818. You may waive this charge if you're already covered under an equivalent parent’s or guardian’s plan. However, non–U.S. citizens are required to enroll in OSHIP.

Need Help? Financial & Cost Planning Guidance

The total cost of attendance—also called the sticker price—rarely reflects what most families actually pay. Through a combination of need-based aid, merit scholarships, and other funding sources, Occidental helps lower the out-of-pocket cost for many students.

We understand that college is a significant investment, and we’re here to guide you through the process. Our financial aid team is ready to answer your questions, help you understand your options, and support your family every step of the way.

See how financial aid can lower your costs

Most students at Occidental receive some form of financial aid, which can significantly reduce the total cost of attendance. Whether through scholarships, grants, or work-study, aid helps make an Occidental education more affordable. Use our tools to get a personalized estimate and better understand your options.
