Occidental requires all students, staff and faculty to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, including a 6-month booster shot, with proof of vaccination.

Updated 8/3/22

All students, faculty, and staff (including contracted employees who work indoors) must be fully vaccinated in order to be on campus. Fully vaccinated is defined as having the initial vaccine series plus at least one booster dose. Our vaccination requirement allows for medical and religious exemptions, though these exemptions must be approved by Emmons (for students) or by Human Resources (for employees). Those community members with approved exemptions will be subject to twice-weekly testing, as well as other preventative measures, to protect the health and well-being of the Oxy community.

Reporting Your Booster

To submit proof of your booster vaccination, please do the following:

  • Log into myhealth.oxy.edu using your Oxy credentials.
  • Complete the 2-step verification.
  • On the front page, choose: Enter My COVID-19 Vaccine Information.
  • Upload a picture of your vaccination card showing your third (booster) vaccination.
  • In the COVID-19 Vaccine History section, click Add Immunization.
  • From the dropdown menu, select your vaccination brand (Note: there is no separate option for a Pfizer booster - just select Pfizer COVmRNA).
  • Click “Done.” All fields may be updated at any time and new files can be uploaded to replace existing ones.

Oxy will provide reasonable accommodations to individuals with qualifying disabilities.

We appreciate that employees understand the importance of reporting vaccination status and the significant majority have, in fact, reported their status. It should be noted, however, that failure to report will be treated in the same way as a refusal to abide by any other College policy. We would naturally try to work with employees to resolve any inadvertent non-compliance or individual challenges in getting and/or reporting vaccination, but deliberate or repeated non-compliance could result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Students may similarly be subject to disciplinary action through the Code of Student Conduct, which may include, but not be limited to, prohibition from accessing or using campus grounds or campus facilities. Student violations of College policy will be handled by the Office of Student Conduct pursuant to the Student Code of Conduct.
