Processional Attire and Parking
Occidental College Students will process wearing an Inauguration branded t-shirt that will be provided for you. All students can pick up an Inauguration t-shirt on the Quad: Monday - Thurs, April 18 - 21, between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. We encourage you to wear your Inauguration t-shirt with professional attire and shoes to comfortably process into Hillside Theater.
Some of you will be carrying flags; you know who you are. If you will be processing with a flag, it will be ready for you when you check-in at Keck Theater. Please arrive no later than 1:00 p.m.
Your check-in location is at the Keck Theater where you will enjoy lunch, and a member of our staff will help line you up to process into the Remsen Bird Hillside Theater. Please note that your belongings will need to be stored elsewhere during the ceremony as Keck Theater will not be secured during or available after the ceremony.
On Inauguration weekend, students are strongly encouraged to park in the Berkus Hall Garage. The Inauguration Day designated rideshare drop-off point will be located in the Booth Parking Lot, and golf cart shuttles will run on designated routes on campus between 12 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Saturday, April 23.

Each group of delegates will have at least one marshal who will lead you to the appropriate seating area for the Installation Ceremony.
The Installation Ceremony will begin promptly at 2:30 p.m. immediately following the processional, and will last until about 4 p.m. It is at this ceremony that Harry J. Elam, Jr. will be formally installed as the sixteenth president of Occidental College. Processional delegates will participate in the recessional at the conclusion of the ceremony, which could last until as late as 4:30 p.m.
Immediately following the ceremony, all guests are invited to attend the all-campus celebration on the Academic Quad. The Community Celebration will include free food, games, music, student performances and festivities for our guests and their families.
