Professor Lalami has published four books, including The Moor’s Account, which won the American Book Award and was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Fiction, and The Other Americans, which was a Los Angeles Times bestseller and a finalist for the National Book Award in Fiction.
Panelists Marianne Frapwell, Occidental's Survivor Advocate; Kaaren Williamson, Ph.D., director of the Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center at the University of Michigan; and Carrie Landrum, assistant director of adaptable resolution, training and strategic partnerships at the University of Michigan will explore past work and future potential for transforming cultures of sexual harm and Title IX practices.

Join author and psychotherapist Wendy C. Ortiz as she facilitates a discussion about issues that come up for writers who write about shame, trauma, or other "difficult" material. Drawing on her experience as a psychotherapist and author of three memoirs, Wendy will offer some strategies and resources regarding how writers can support themselves and fellow writers navigate this territory.
