Honor Board

Acting as the ASOC's judicial branch, Honor Board is comprised of ten student jurors elected by the student body. Honor Board voices student perspectives in cases concerning alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct, the College's Academic Ethics policy, or the Honor Principle. Hi all! My name is Candy Wu (She/Her). I am a sophomore juror serving on Honor Board. My major is undeclared but I’m thinking between psychology and sociology. In my free time, I like to hang out with family and friends as well as going to dance classes. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any comments, questions, or concerns! Hi, my name's Henry Kinskey (they/he) I am from Seattle, Washington. I am looking forward to majoring in History and minoring in CTSJ and or Geology! When I am not held up in the library studying or working with ASOC, I enjoy bouldering, tiramisu cake, thrifting, and D&D. I am thrilled to start creating substantial and lasting change, while working with my peers at Oxy so feel free to contact me at kinskey@oxy.edu.

Ruth Sapp

Hi all! My name is Ruth Sapp (she/her) and I’m a junior Sociology major and GWSS minor from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. When I’m not studying, I love taking care of my plants, playing Stardew Valley, watching documentaries, and collecting thrifted knick knacks. I joined Honor Board because I’m passionate about restorative justice practices and finding ways to implement them on a tangible and institutional level. Jenny Desch

Hi, it's Jenny Desch! I am a junior CTSJ major with a Politics and Sociology double minor from Naperville, IL who uses she and they pronouns.  I love community organizing around many issues such as harm reduction, decriminalization, housing, access, and the intersection of those. Gavin Griswold

Hi, my name is Gavin Griswold and I am a class of 2023 Diplomacy and World Affairs major from Portland, Oregon. I use He/Him/His pronouns. In my free time I like going on road trips to State Parks and visiting coffee shops. I ran for Honor Board to help create positive change within Occidental. I am part of Programming Board, Oxy Dems, Habitat for Humanity, and announce at Oxy baseball games.

Hi my name is Jack and I I go by the he/him series pronouns. I am a class of 2023 CTSJ major and I am very excited to serve as an honor board juror. In my free time I like to listen to and create music. I’m from Reno, Nevada and I also have a show on the KOXY radio station.

Maya Tauber

Hi there! My name is Maya Tauber (she/her) and I’m a first year student from Simi Valley, California. I’m undeclared, but interested in Cognitive Science, or a Politics/Law track. Honor Board Advisor

Martha "M.D." Matlock
Assistant Director of Student Conduct & Restorative Practices
Martha "M.D." started at Oxy in her role in Fall 2021, and is a native of Stamps, Arkansas, home of the late Maya Angelou. As a first-generation college student, non-traditional college student, and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. she knows the importance of mentorship, involvement, and connection to academic success. M.D. earned her masters in College Student Personnel Services and Administration from the University of Central Arkansas, and is currently pursuing her doctorate in Organizational Leadership at Grand Canyon University.  Professionally she has served in various roles in residential life and student conduct at the University of Georgia, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and the University of Michigan-Flint.  M.D. also shares a passion in restorative practices and finding educational solutions to repair harm within communities.
