If you will be taking any courses in mathematics, chemistry, Spanish, French, or German, you should take the appropriate online placement exam(s) during the summer.

Only those students that have satisfied the prerequisites in these subjects, either by taking the placement exam or having earned a high enough AP Exam score, may pre-register. Placement exams must be completed by Wednesday August 09, 2023. AP Exam scores must also be received by the Registrar’s Office by this date. Once you have taken the placement exam you will be able to pre-register online by contacting the Advising Center. Limited summer registration closes on August 11, 2023.

Some courses may fill up quickly during Orientation, so registering over the summer may be beneficial. Please note that you will have the option to change your course schedule (i.e. add/drop courses) during Orientation, so there’s no risk involved in registering for a placement course during the summer.

How to Find My Placement Exam Results

Scores are typically posted within 48 hours from completion of the exam. Only once your results are posted will you be able to register for courses over the summer.

  1. Log into MyOxy.

  2. On the left side panel, select “My Gateway.”

  3. Click on the “Grade & Academic Records” link.

  4. In the bottom right square (“More Links Below”), click on “Placement Results.”

  5. All the placement exams you’ve taken will be listed followed by your score, placement, exemptions, and test date.

Note : If you do not see your placement results posted in Grades & Academic Records, neither can we! Once a placement test is completed we must wait for the information to be uploaded into our student information system before they can be reviewed. Please wait until your placement results are posted before contacting the Advising Center.
