We are sad to announce that the Youth Acting Program, our Saturday morning classes in the fall and spring, will not be held this year. We hope to bring it back in Fall 2022. In the meantime, check out our virtual Children's Theater!
The Youth Acting Program is designed to enhance children's storytelling and improv skills in a fun and playful environment. We have the Youth Storyteller class for children 6-8 years old and the Youth Improv class for those 9-12 years old. At the end of each 8-week course, the students will hold a demonstration of the skills they learned and families are more than welcome to attend.
Kids ages 6-8 will work with Folk Tales from around the world to learn the basics of storytelling, character work, and physical theater. This class emphasizes teamwork and imaginative play. At the end of our eight-week session, parents are invited to an open class to watch their children work together to act out their tale.
Eight weeks: $120
Kids ages 9-12 will learn the basics of “creating something from nothing." In improv, there is no wrong answer. Students will learn to think on their feet, respect each other’s ideas, and work together to create their own stories. At the end of our eight-week session, parents are invited to an informal show where students will play a sampling of the games they learned in class.
Eight weeks: $160
